1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering, submitting a pitch, or otherwise using the Site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility

The Site is intended for students, innovators, teams, and organizations participating in or engaging with Baraton Innovation Week. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are authorized to submit it (e.g. on behalf of your team or organization).

3. User Responsibilities

When using the Site, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information in all forms and submissions
• Not impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation
• Not use the Site to submit false, misleading, or plagiarized pitch/innovation content
• Not attempt to access the admin panel or any data you are not authorized to view
• Not misuse, disrupt, spam, or attempt to hack the Site

4. Intellectual Property of Submissions

You retain ownership of the ideas, pitch decks, and innovation content you submit.

By submitting, you grant the Entrepreneurship Club and Baraton Innovation Week a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to view, review, evaluate, and — where relevant — showcase your submission for purposes connected to the event (e.g. judging, event promotion, archives), unless you request otherwise in writing.

We will not claim ownership of your innovation or pitch, and we will not share your submission with unrelated third parties without your consent.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You may not use the Site to:

• Upload malicious software, viruses, or harmful code
• Scrape, harvest, or extract data from the Site without authorization
• Attempt unauthorized access to the admin panel or other users' data
• Violate any applicable law while using the Site

Violation of this section may result in disqualification from Innovation Week and/or suspension of your access to the Site.

6. Admin Access & Data Handling

The Site includes an administrative panel used by authorized organizers of the Entrepreneurship Club to review registrations and submissions. Access to this panel is restricted, and data handling is governed by our Privacy Policy.

7. Disclaimer

The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available." While we aim for accuracy and uptime, we do not guarantee the Site will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fully secure. We are not responsible for loss of submissions due to technical issues, though we will make reasonable efforts to prevent this.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Entrepreneurship Club, Baraton Innovation Week, and the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site, including data loss or downtime.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Site or disqualify a submission if you violate these Terms.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.
